British Bitter

Despite it’s name, this is a well-balanced beer. Neither too hoppy nor too malty. This is a very simple, true-to-style recipe. I’m making this recipe this weekend. I had to hold myself back from adding 1/2 pound of wheat malt, some biscuit malt or an ounce of black patent malt. It would still be appropriate to do so, but I wanted to keep this one very simple. Perhaps I’m making it in Michael Jackson’s memory.

6.6 lbs Maris Otter Malt
1.1 lb 55°L crystal malt
1.5 oz EK Goldings – 60 mins
0.5 oz EK Goldings – 5 mins
Safale S-04 yeast
